The City of London Police announced plans to acquire a new reporting and analysis system for fraud and cybercrime.

It has launched a tender to suppliers to deliver technology to a new national reporting center to replace the existing Action Fraud that is providing information to the National Fraud Intelligence Bureau (NFIB) for analysis.

The centralized intelligence function enables fraud and cybercrime reports from across the country to be linked and better coordination of police resources to solve crimes and protect victims.

The City of London Police-based NFIB also received reports from the fraud prevention agency CIFAS and the financial services association UK Finance.

Police said the current service was procured in 2015 and needs to be updated due to technological advances and increasing demand for the service. It must adapt to the changing landscape of fraud and cybercrime and offer greater integration with law enforcement.
