Loganair connects London City Airport and Heathrow to the Isle of Man

Loganair, the UK’s largest regional airline, announced today that it will begin flights from the Isle of Man to London City and London Heathrow airports from next month, marking a major step forward for the Isle of Man’s air connectivity after the represents a pandemic.

New services from the Isle of Man to London City will begin from 19 April, initially offering one daily flight (excluding Saturdays) before offering up to two flights each weekday from Tuesday 3 May. From this date, the new timetable for morning and evening flights will offer one return during the day in each direction and one in each direction on Sunday evening.

Services linking the Isle of Man to London Heathrow begin on Tuesday 3 May with a daily service designed to offer excellent connections with Loganair’s main partner airlines, including British Airways, to a variety of destinations worldwide, including key points in Europe, North America and South Africa.

Both the London City and Heathrow routes will be flown under Loganair’s codeshare agreement with British Airways and tickets for the new flights will go on sale next week.

The new services will be flown by Loganair’s Isle of Man-based team of pilots, cabin crew and engineers. The airline now has over 30 staff at Ronaldsway who also support existing Loganair routes to Liverpool, Manchester, Birmingham and Edinburgh.

More Isle of Man-based pilots and flight attendants have joined Loganair this week – many formerly employed by Flybe and Stobart Air prior to the collapse of both airlines – to begin their training on the 72-seat ATR72-600 aircraft, operated by Loganair is deployed on its IOM routes. These are the most environmentally friendly regional aircraft, combining best-in-class fuel economy and CO2 emissions with excellent levels of onboard comfort for customers.

Today’s announcement also brings other benefits to the Isle of Man with robust, stable jobs in the aviation sector. We are delighted to welcome new members to the Loganair IOM team this week and we will continue our program to invest in training, career development and apprenticeships.”
