Northampton charity BacZac is looking for runners for the London Landmarks Half Marathon

A Northampton cancer charity is encouraging people to get involved and take part in an ‘exciting’ running challenge next year to improve the lives of young people with cancer.

BacZac His Legacy is recruiting runners for the London Landmarks Half Marathon to raise “essential donations” for the charity.

The event takes place on Sunday 2nd April and is the only half marathon to pass through both the City of London and the City of Westminster.

The London Landmarks Half Marathon Public Place Voting is now closed, meaning runners can only enter the race through a registered charity.

BacZac pays the entry fee and provides the participants with a running shirt. In return, the charity is asking each runner to raise at least £400.

Jason Forskitt Zac’s father said, “We call on the adventurous to get behind our fundraisers by attending this engaging event benefiting BacZac His Legacy.

“Participants will be able to walk past some of the capital’s most famous landmarks while also raising important donations for such an important cause.”

BacZac His Legacy supports young adults living with cancer and their families. The charity was established in memory of 20-year-old Zac Forskitt, who lost his battle with cancer in 2016 after being diagnosed with a rare form of testicular cancer and acute megakaryoblastic leukemia (AMKL), a rare subtype of acute myeloid leukemia (AML). had been.

Since launching in 2017, BacZac has raised approximately £50,000 a year and, but for the disruptions of the coronavirus pandemic, would have had enough to meet their goal of buying a sea defense home.
