River Road Golf Course Clubhouse in London, Ontario. demolished after arson 2021 – London

Nearly six months after suspected arson burned down the River Road Golf Course clubhouse in east London, Ontario, crews are demolishing the building.

On the morning of Sunday November 6, 2021, a fire at the clubhouse caused around $1 million in damage, which London Fire later ruled was arson.

The city confirmed that demolition had begun at the site on Monday.

A statement from the City of London said the structure had “significant structural damage which would have resulted in a security order”.

“After a full assessment of the nature of the damage, it was determined that repair was not an option as the damage was too extensive to justify the cost,” the statement said.
