She is best known for playing the perfectly poised and immaculately groomed Villanelle on Killing Eve.

But Jodie Comer seemed a world away from her character’s glamor as she looked dirty and scruffy for her new role in dystopian drama The End We Start From.

The 29-year-old actress, who plays a young mother caught amid devastating floods engulfing the city of London, was spotted cradling her Mini co-star on set on Monday.

Jodie looked unkempt and disheveled, her face smeared with dirt and her loose locks slicked back haphazardly.

The Liverpool actress was dressed casually in a cream linen shirt which she paired with mom jeans and a gray shirt, while carrying a large brown backpack.

When her mini co-star started making a fuss, Jodie was seen comforting the baby before filming her scenes again.

Production on The End We Start From was forced to halt earlier this month when someone on set tested positive for Covid-19.

A source told MailOnline: “Everything was going well and they were preparing for the second scene, but then all of a sudden we saw Jodie being driven away in a car.

“The director gathered the entire crew and told them that someone from the cast or crew had tested positive for Covid and that filming would have to halt.

“Everyone is obviously worried about the baby that was on set.”

Speaking of her new role, Jodie said: “My character is both ordinary and extraordinary, both her very personal life and the world around her have been turned upside down and she is confronted with the unknown at every turn.

“Her story is about the quiet exploits of determination, dedication, bravery and love.”

Director Mahalia Belo added, “The End We Start From is a unique and original take on a survival film. One that feels in tune with the climate crisis we are now experiencing.

“It provides an honest look at what it is like to be a hero, someone who is forced to be brave, who sometimes cannot be.

“It’s incredible to work with such an extraordinary cast and bring this human, original and ultimately hopeful story to life.”

Joining Jodie in the film are Benedict Cumberbatch, Katherine Watson, Mark Strong and Gina McKee.’
